We have compiled a list of our favorite essentials to create a coastal feel in your home so no matter where you live you can create that laid back, relaxed vacation vibe easily and inexpensively.

Creating a comfortable Livingroom is essential for promoting relaxation and well-being. A comfortable room should be aesthetically pleasing, functional, and promote a sense of calm and tranquility. We like our homes to feel coastal without them screaming BEACH HOUSE at every turn.

There are several key elements to consider when creating a comfortable coastal room.

Good lighting is essential for creating a bright and inviting room. A combination of natural and artificial lighting is ideal, as natural light helps to create a sense of warmth and energy, while artificial light can be used to create a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

The colors used in a room can have a significant impact on the overall atmosphere and mood. We like to use cool colors in our properties such as blue and green to promote a sense of calm and tranquility. It's also important to consider the balance of colors in a room, using neutral colors will help to create a sense of balance and harmony. Keep the furniture items neutral and bring color into the room with art, décor, and pillows.

A comfortable room should have furniture that is functional, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. It's important to choose furniture that is the right size and scale for the room, and that is comfortable to sit or lie on. The furniture should also be arranged in a way that promotes conversation and interaction, as well as a sense of flow and movement within the room.

End Table:

I encourage you to have fun-mix and match these end tables. In order to create a relaxed and eclectic environment, like a Pink Pineapple Property, use several different kinds of materials and design styles in each room. If end tables are sold as a set, break them up and use them in different rooms, this will ensure a creative modern look and pull the rooms together.

Coffee table:

Size and scale is important when choosing a coffee table. Be make sure you have enough space to walk between the table and the sofa and that it's not protruding into any walkways. Again, mix and match here, the coffee table should not match the end tables.

Ottoman/Pouf:

We love using poofs in living spaces. They can be used for extra seating, a foot rest or even a place to set drinks (with a tray on top). Poofs are perfect for filling an empty corner and bringing texture into the space.

Arm Chair:

When choosing an armchair for your living room, try to stay neutral and modern. Think about the size of the chair and the space it will occupy in the room. Will it be the focal point of the room or will it be used to complement existing furniture? Also, think about the function of the chair. Will it be used for reading, watching TV, or as an accent piece? This will help you determine the best style and size of the chair for your needs. The chair(s) should complement the existing décor and create a cohesive look but not be too "matchy-matchy"

Sofa:

When selecting a sofa for your home, there are a few key factors to consider. First, think about the size of the room and the intended function of the sofa. If the room is small, a loveseat or apartment-sized sofa may be a better fit. If it's a larger room, a sectional or a full-sized sofa may be more appropriate. We like to choose transitional sofas that are clean lined and will look great with any décor. Consider the durability of the material, as well as the ease of maintenance. Leather and microfiber are both durable and easy to clean, while a fabric sofa may be more comfortable but require more maintenance. Finally, think about the color and pattern of the sofa. It should complement the existing décor and create a cohesive look. Creams, whites and light grays will work best when aiming for the costal look.

Credenza:

The credenza/TV stand is typically the focal point in the room. Choose something that is unique and has character. I recommend hanging the TV over the credenza to create a more open feel and give space for décor.

Lamps:

When choosing lamps for a room, there are a few things to consider. First, think about the function of the lamp. Will it be used for task lighting, such as reading or working, or for ambient lighting, to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in the room? This will help determine the best type of lamp for your needs. Its important to think about the height of the lamp. A floor lamp can be a great option for task lighting, while a table lamp can be used for ambient lighting or to add a decorative touch to a room.

When it comes to the light bulb, consider the color temperature and brightness. Warmer light (2700K-3000K) is great for creating a cozy atmosphere, while cooler light (4000K-5000K) is great for task lighting.

Rugs:

When selecting a rug for your coastal room stay neutral or in the blue family. Avoid crazy patterns and super expensive rugs because you can easily change the feel of a room by changing out the rug. Consider the size and shape of the rug. Make sure it fits well in the space. The larger the rug the better. Think about the colors and patterns of the rug. They should complement the existing décor and create a cohesive look. Also consider the material of the rug. Natural fibers like wool, cotton, and jute are durable and have a cozy, natural feel. Synthetic fibers like nylon and polypropylene are more durable and resistant to staining but may not be as soft.

Decorations and accessories are a great way to add personality and style to a room. Items such as art, plants, and photographs can add visual interest and depth to a room, while items such as candles, incense, and essential oils can add a sense of aroma and relaxation. It's important to choose décor items that reflect personal style and taste, and to arrange them in a way that promotes balance and harmony.
